What is Lean Six Sigma?

  • Lean provides a strategy for maximising customer value whilst minimising waste. Six Sigma provides a strategy for improving process capability by reducing product and process variation. Lean Six Sigma combines the two approaches into a recognised and successful model for delivering improvement projects

Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt

The Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt programme provides an overview of the Lean Six Sigma methodology to enable delegates to identify and implement improvements within BAU as well as be successful project team members on Lean Six Sigma projects.

The course includes the following:

  • The Lean Six Sigma DMAIC Methodology
  • Project roles and responsibilities
  • Communication and influencing skills
  • Identifing, scoping and selecting suitable projects
  • Project initiation
  • Tools to measure the current performance of a process
  • Tools to analyse the root cause of issues
  • Solution generation and selection methods
  • Launching improvements
  • Sustained control of improvements

At the end of the course candidates will:

  • Be confident with using the DMAIC methodology
  • Understand the value of key Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques and be confident at using them within the real world
  • Be able to identify and implement small improvements within BAU
  • Be effective project team members on small-medium sized projects

The training combines presentation as well as practical exercises.
